Friday Cheese: YOU TURN THAT THING DOWN February 17, 2012
I really wish I had it in me to write another intro/setup like I did for this particular song (I did actually creep myself out a bit writing that), but I haven't the spark nor the time to carefully shepherd one to proper ember-ship.
For this entry, I actually never really stopped to ask myself what, exactly this song is all about. Run away/Release the body? Sometimes he doesn't believe in his victory over tyranny? Take your eyes away from him, you know he's apathetic?
As the kids say... Da Fuq?
Seriously, check the lyrics out here:
Trust me or deliver me
You know I'm on the run
Face to face we sit here now
This isn't all the fun.
Take your eyes away from me
You know I'm apathetic
Put me wise on desperation
Take the blame from me.
Sometimes I don't believe in my victory
Over tyranny, oh no.
And now I'm leaving.
Gimme commandos
You are immortal
I am the one who's on hire.
Too many reasons,
Thousand reasons for demanding termination soon.
Burning desire, burning like fire
Towing me out of disaster.
But this is the realm of tormentors.
Sometimes I don't believe in my victory
Over tyranny, oh no.
And now I'm leaving.
Run away
Release the body.
Sometimes I don't believe in my victory
Over tyranny
On the run
And all of this, liberally sprinkled with big fat 90's techno WOO's. It's kind of like making a passionate plea to end hunger and strife in front of the UN, while dressed in gold lamé speedos. While not relevant, definitely discordant.
