Because YES. The popular image of sex workers is usually between two extremes: someone who is destitute, working the streets, likely dealing with substance abuse problems, and worse – or that of a high-class call girl commanding outrageous sums from incredibly wealthy and power clients. And it’s not to say that those don’t exist, but as is so often the case with our society, we obsess on the extremes without learning to understand the very real people in the middle.

And everyone on every little slice of that spectrum deserves to be treated with dignity, decency, and compassion – things that should be the hallmark of the civilized society that we claim to be.
